I have been 10 days down and my website has cost me money. I used Duplicator on a number of website with no problem. This time I was moving my main site from one c-Panel to a newer version and for some reason I could not access my /wp-admin/options-permalink.php to activate the program. I could nt get a response form the support people Life in the grid.
It looked like I have been abandoned and on my own.
The install created a SQL Database and restored most of my files.
I created new blank database.
I renamed the wp-config.php file. 001
I installed a fresh copy of WordPress over the Duplicator copy.
Renamed the wp-config.php file again. 002
Leaving the file blank.
I copied the full database name, username and password.
I went to a blank web screen and typed in the site url.
WordPress asked for a database, username and password.
Filed it in and then it worked with all perma-links intact.
I was just lucky to find this fix.
Never give up there is always a way.
